Despite my reservations about Origin, EA's attempt to compete with Steam, I decided to buy Battlefield 3 as I've recently upgraded my PC (Win 7 64 bit, 6 core CPU, 8Gb RAM, GTX580 graphics) and wanted something that would do it justice, plus I've been itching for an active game to play after struggling to find decent DOD:S servers lately.
I'm currently messing around on pubs with my old DOD:S buddies, Take No Prisoners (www.tnpgaming.co.uk) and we have our own BF3 server (click here if you have a Battelog account).
Any BF3 players out there drop in and say hello sometime. ![]()

I was thinking about BF3 too, I believe Red is playing it (not seen him for days) is it any good?
Graphics are stunning, best looking game I've ever played (if your rig can handle it). I'm running it on ultra-high and the sense of immersion is incredible, you really feel as if you're in a war zone.
Despite the ultra-realism it's still surprising playable, the gun-play is faster and more enjoyable than I was expecting, and I love Rush mode (tho I think most BF purests prefer Conquest).
There's so many servers to choose from tho (many 1,000's) you'll always get a game that's completely to your liking.
Definately worth the purchase, and I've never been a big fan of the Battlefield series in the past.
